Topknot:
• Comb forward from “knob” on top of head.
• Cut in semicircle from edges of ears to point above the muzzle.
Tools: brush comb, thinning shears

Ears:
• Strip or pluck long hair from inside and outside 1/3-2/3 down to the base.
• Keep outside edges neat and trim with scissors or smoothly plucking.
Tools: stripping knife, finger cots, small scissors

Neck:
• Strip back of neck from bony knob on back of skull between the ears to shoulders to emphasize length of neck.
• Blend with body coat.
• Use double edged thinning shears to thin coat if necessary.
Tools: Stripping knife, thinning shears, finger cots

Body Coat:
• Strip with medium stripping knife to about 1/2”-3/4” along finished length along topline and down shoulders and sides to midpoint in direction of the hair growth.
• Use stiff natural bristle brush from neck to tail to emphasize level topline, downward over shoulders and rump.
• Trim scraggly furnishings underneath belly to achieve smooth line emphasizing chest back to rear legs.
• Finish with wide toothed comb.
Tools: medium stripping knife, thinning shears, bristle brush, wide toothed comb

Tail:
• Trim with scissors or stripping knife to blend into back or rump.
• Trim close to tip.
• Clean and trim around vent or male underparts.
• Blend with stripping knife from tail on each side and back of hip.
• Blend coat with stripping knife or by plucking down to the cowlick on rear of each leg.
• Blend into the vent area.

Face:
• Trim whiskers in close.
• Strip long surplus hair on cheeks back to “thumbprint” on side of face.
• Pluck hair between the eyes and on top of muzzle.
Tools: fine stripping knife, finger cots, small blunt nosed scissors

Ruff:
• Brush outward from under throat to shoulders to cultivate side neck ruff. Brush coat down to form bib-like apron.
Tools: Brush and comb

Front:
• Remove excessive hair with stripping knife starting at the shoulders.
• Blend down through elbow and to the feet.
• Leave feathering on back of legs from elbow to carpus joint.
• Remove excessive tufts around outside of elbows.
Tools: stripping knives, thinning shears.

Front Legs:
• Strip front and inside short from elbow to foot leaving feathers behind leg.
• Trim “feathers” that “stick out” too far on outside.
Tools: stripping knife, thinning scissors, small scissors

Feet:
• Trim feet with small scissors and remove long hair between pads to resemble cat feet.
• Cut and file nails.
Tools: small scissors, nail clippers.

Rear Legs:
• Blend slightly from stifle to hocks, from hocks to foot.
• Strip long hairs from hocks down completely around rear legs.
Tools: stripping knife, thinning scissors, small scissors
